Coface announces new appointment of Asia Pacific Economist
Coface announces today the appointment of Bernard Aw as Economist for the Asia Pacific Region, effective December 1, 2020.
Economist for the Asia Pacific Region
Bernard has over a decade of experience in macroeconomic analysis and monitoring of Asian economies, covering geopolitical, business and policy issues as well as financial markets. Prior to joining Coface, he was a Principal Economist at IHS Markit. His other previous roles include Market Strategist for IG Asia and Regional Economist at 4CAST. Bernard has also conducted research on trade and economic issues at the Singapore Institute of International Affairs.
With his rich experience, Bernard will cover economic and geopolitical issues and developments in the region. He will contribute to informing the Group’s “risk decision makers” of developments to help them make the correct decisions and promote Coface’s expertise.
Bernard holds a M.Sc. in Economics from the Singapore Management University and a B.Sc. in Economics and Finance from the University of London.
Based in Singapore, Bernard will report directly to Bhupesh Gupta, CEO for Asia Pacific Region and Julien Marcilly, the Group’s Chief Economist.
